Your thoughts, emotions, and energy system play a vital role in your body's health yet because they are unseen they tend to be left completely left out of a person's healing plan. If you've ever left the Doctor's office feeling hopeless, defeated, and discouraged, then some part of you knows there are critical pieces to the puzzle that are missing.
I have not created this section of the blog to criticize or diminish the value of traditional allopathic medicine. My purpose is to bring awareness to the unseen elements that are often missed.
Do you struggle with anxiety or worry? When we stress and anguish excessively about something, it puts us at risk energetically to absorb other people's issues and problems. This doesn't help them (as they will just re-create it momentarily) but it can break us down and make us feel shaky, sick, drained, and literally like we're going crazy!
For me, what I’m finding helps is to visualize the person or situation as being surrounded by a Spiritual Healing Team of comfort, guidance, and support to help things along. I ask for the support and then know that it’s my task to work to release my own fear, anguish, need to control, panic, and attachment to how I think it all should work out, etc.
Did you know that sadness and grief tend to have a direct effect on the lungs?
Chinese Medicine teaches that each of our emotions will have a different effect on each of our organs.
If you're going through a tough time, I hope this will offer you a healing lift. Unfortunately sadness and grief are just part of the experience that is life. In order for new chapters to open, completed chapters have to close whether we're ready for them to or not. Sometimes chapters seem too short or they close before they even really got started, it hurts... It seems critical that we learn how to release and move through the sadness and grief the best we can so at least it doesn't become stuck and affect our ability to breathe...
Did you know that painful experiences such as betrayal, abandonment, depression and an inability to cope are just some of the emotions that directly affect the heart? A few years ago I went through something that left me feeling so cut and betrayed I seriously drove home with my hand on my chest. My heart literally hurt so much, I couldn't breathe unless my palm was pressed to my chest. That was my first conscious experience with literal "heart break!" I sincerely hope that you can't relate to being hurt this much, but I realize that most of you probably have.. :/
Since Chinese Medicine teaches that each of our emotions will have a different effect on each of our organs, here's some more information and a simple exercise to help send healing energy to your heart.
Our bodies are a great tool to help us set and maintain healthy boundaries.
If you're body is feeling drained and full of aches and pains, its important to pay attention. I'm not talking about paying attention on the physical level (most of us are pretty on top of that) I'm talking about getting silent and evaluating what's going on in your emotional life and your body's energy field.
What They Don't Tell You About Illness!
The CDC (Center of Disease Control) cites stress as being the #1 cause of illness. Since stress is such a concern, addressing it should be top priority yet it usually isn't. When you go to the Doctor, you're typically prescribed medicine, surgery, or physical therapy. What's going on in your life is usually not even on the table for discussion. For the most part, "stress" is just something we're kind of left to deal with and figure out on our own.
So what is it that causes stress and what is it exactly? In reality, it's not the tasks we need to complete, its our unresolved emotions and our inability to understand and release them and/or our reactions to them. (blow ups, melt downs, etc.)
Struggling with Shoulder Pain or Lack of Mobility?
Do your shoulders ache? Isn't it the most frustrating thing when you're hurting and you go to the doctor, participate in physical therapy, even surgery, yet still feel like there's something missing? Some part of you knows deep inside that something is lacking and you're not really healing, yet you can't find the answers you need? Feeling stuck and trapped in an illness can cause intense feelings of hopelessness, powerlessness, and even depression. I think this is due to a deep knowing we all have, that there is more to healing than prescriptions, surgery, and even diet and exercise.
So what is it that's missing? There are all kinds of scientific studies, bestselling books, and even reputable websites such as mercola.com citing unresolved emotional issues as being substantial contributors to illness.
