A Soothing Exercise to Lighten Your Day When Life Just Hurts..

clearing sadness

Happy Mother's Day (A few days late.)

How was your Mother's Day? I hope you had a wonderful day. For me, Mother's Day has always been kind of a bitter sweet day.

Sometimes being a mom just hurts and trying to live up to all the expectations and demands can be exhausting and overwhelming.
We all want to be 100% attentive and available, but sometimes life's challenges and pressures just consume us to our core and it can take everything we have just to keep going.

Painful deaths in the family happen, devastating job loss, divorce, bankruptcy, anything... yet our kids still keep growing up, still keep being kids, still keep needing us and sometimes it's all we can do to even muster a smile for them.

These are the kinds of moments we tend to beat ourselves up as mothers, feel racked with guilt and inadequacy, and wonder if our kids are really going to be okay, or if they even know how much we love them.

Well... I have a big confession to make... (Please don't judge me but I'm just going to say it!) I'm a mom who still loses it from time to time.. I wish I didn't but once in a while I still slip up and even yell. This has been one of the major struggles in my life and one of the big reasons I continue to invest so much in working to heal my stuff.

I'm writing this article today to let you know that whatever you're struggling with, there is hope! The biggest issue around most of the problems we deal with isn't so much the physical problem. It's more about the heavy emotions around it that tend to bury us.

Imagine how much easier it would be to cope if you could eliminate the stressful emotions that bombard you when you're facing difficult life stuff!  creating a loving family

Imagine being able to take off the pressure just like removing a heavy coat so you could actually think and breathe!

Imagine how different your life would be if you were able to gain the know-how and tools to be able to handle anything that's thrown your way?

What if you could be emotionally, mentally, and energetically free of a divorce or any other difficult situation? Can you imagine how much more time, energy, and focus you could have for your kids if you weren't consumed emotionally by trauma, toxic relationships, anxiety, depression or any other emotional issue?

Would you believe me if I told you that all of this and more is possible?
If you're feeling hopeless, defeated, angry at yourself/others/the world... for whatever reason, please know it's most likely just emotional stress and old baggage that needs to be released and cleared from your life.

Here's a soothing exercise to help calm things down if it's been a bad day:

Place your fist on the center of your chest and rub in clockwise circles while repeating the following phrases: (This activates the Heart Chakra Energy Center.)

"Even though it's been a bad day, I am willing to forgive myself. I'm doing the best I know how. Sometimes it feels like I'm hanging on by my fingernails and I'm exhausted from trying to hold it all together. I really need things to calm down but I'm not sure how to go about it, I love and forgive myself and everyone who may have contributed to how I'm feeling right now. I'm choosing to feel calm and peaceful and release some of this heaviness. I'm a good person with a good heart. I just need to do some healing work to release the heavy yuck that keeps me from feeling love and joy in my life. It feels good to know that it's a possibility to uncover and lighten my heart. I want to feel lighter and more available for myself and those I love. I'm willing to consider doing the work to take better care of me. It would feel great to release all this stuff I'm carrying around. I'm now choosing to be open to the all the healing possibilities that are available to me."

****Take a few deep breaths and allow your body to relax.

Life's not perfect and that's okay. I actually don't believe it's designed to be.
I still have rough days sometimes. I'm a mom and tough moments just seem to be a part of the experience! The wonderful difference now is that I know how to take care of me. I no longer berate myself and spend days on end racked with hopelessness, guilt, and self-hatred...

Now when I'm feeling tense or agitated, it's not a big deal. I just know it's time to take care of myself. I work on releasing the stress and uncovering what's driving it. This not only helps me to feel calm and relaxed, it also clears my mind so I can stay open to new solutions and ideas for how to handle the problems that come up.
Being able to handle the stress this way has changed and healed my life in ways I can't even describe! I can finally sleep better at night knowing that I'm okay and my kids are too. That's worth everything to me and I want the same for you!

I know you're an amazing person who values peace and life-mastery, if you weren't, you wouldn't be reading this. Keep taking care of you. I have some new session openings if you would like to let some things go! Click here to find out more.
