If You Accept the Pain, it Can't Hurt You

Don’t you just love it when you find that perfect quote that sticks with you all day?

Here are a few I just saw from Hugh MacLeod. (He’s a writer that expresses universal truths with comedy and doodles. I think he’s a fun read because he’s a little bit controversial. J)

A Clearing to Help you Live Lighter; How to Dissolve Feelings of Sadness and Grief in Minutes.‏

A Clearing to Help you Live Lighter; How to Dissolve Feelings of Sadness and Grief in Minutes.‏

Sadness, is a deep emotion that we all will experience at some point in our lives. For most people it's a heavy feeling in the chest that's always there in varying degrees. What's discouraging is emotional healing and coping techniques weren't really taught to the vast majority of us in school or at home so we've had to develop other methods to cope such as staying extra busy, eating comforting foods, or drowning ourselves in T.V., movies, etc.

Sometimes it's just too overwhelming and scary to look at. Even if we were to look at it, what then? What do we do with it? What's the point of even bringing it up?

Conquering the "Why Bother" Syndrome

Conquering the "Why Bother" Syndrome

Did you know that if you are bombarded with thoughts of "Why Bother" and feelings of deep discouragement, your body's energy system will not support you in making the changes you want to make in your life?

Over the past few weeks I've been working to prepare another class on how to clear emotional stress and the blocks that keep people stuck.

The other classes I've offered so far, have been all about clearing the emotional and physical issues that can cause the body to hold on to unwanted weight. (If you were unable to attend and would like to have access to those classes, they are available in the store section of my website down the page under "Weight Issues")

During these classes, I noticed that there was a lot of discouragement in the room that could best be described as feelings of "WHY BOTHER!!! I'M SO TIRED OF THE STRUGGLE!"

This is an issue that can stop all efforts for change immediately.

You might be suffering from the "Why Bother Syndrome" if you're finding yourself in any of the following kinds of scenarios:

*You're wanting to lose weight but having a hard time finding the motivation to try again. You're having thoughts like "why bother, last time I lost 20 pounds only to gain 25 back. I'm so tired of this!" b2ap3_thumbnail_exercisegoals.jpg

*You've set a New Year's goal to advance in your career and you find yourself thinking, "I'll never get anywhere with this. Last time I really tried, nobody noticed and it didn't work. Why bother?"

*Maybe you're struggling with a health challenge where you've seen 5 doctors in a row and they've all promised to help but nothing they have done has worked."

*You've decided to give your best effort to improving your marriage or family relationships only to find yourself in another argument and feeling like your efforts have not been appreciated."

Or... there's another dynamic to the "Why Bother Syndrome" that I've really noticed the last little while. It seems to be a collective energy that we're all sharing a little bit right now with the state of the economy and so many people struggling and out of work. I've noticed that there's a sense of hopelessness and discouragement that has come over a big percentage of the population  from viewing the news and hearing all the grim predictions for the future.

If any of what I'm saying here is resonating with you and feeling at all familiar, and you're thinking you might be suffering with the "Why Bother Syndrome" I invite you to consider scheduling some healing sessions for yourself.

Feeling Drained? 2 Ways to Know if You're Suffering from the "Why Bother?" Syndrome

Feeling Drained? 2 Ways to Know if You're Suffering from the "Why Bother?" Syndrome

So how do you know if you’ve come down with the “Why Bother
Syndrome?”

Here’s 2 ways you can tell immediately:

1.) Listen to your thoughts. What do they sound like?

Do you notice yourself thinking things like, “Why would I try
that again? Look what happened the other times! It was a
disaster!” or “I’ve lost 100 pounds over my lifetime so far and
gained 125 back. If I drop the weight, I’ll just gain it back
and hate myself all over again. WHY BOTHER!”

Are you trying to improve or heal a relationship only to notice
yourself thinking “I’m tired of trying, the more I try, the
worse it gets. We’ve gone to therapists, and it doesn’t help!
It too painful to open myself up just to be hurt. I’m tired of
being disappointed.”

Are you struggling with a chronic health condition and hearing
yourself thinking these kinds of thoughts: “So many people have
said they could help me and none of them have. I’m not putting
myself through that again. It’s just too disappointing. Also,
it’s starting to feel like all I do is keep throwing my money
away to all these different therapies and medications.”

Are you trying to heal your finances and noticed thoughts like
“This is the worst economy ever. I don’t have the money I
should have had by now. I should have more things in order.
I’ll never get ahead, WHY BOTHER!”

2.) How much energy do you have?

When it comes to making the changes you want to in your life, do
you have lots of energy or motivation or do you notice yourself
feeling drained just thinking about it?

Feelings of Inadequacy are a Deep Call from the Soul

Feelings of Inadequacy are a Deep Call from the Soul

Did you know that every negative emotion has a purpose and a call contained within it? These stressful emotions are meant to be powerful tools and allies not something scary and awful to be avoided at all costs.  Each uncomfortable emotion that you feel such as anger, sadness, guilt, loneliness, etc. all contain important wisdom and guidance designed to change your life. The trick is to figure out the secret language and what they're trying to tell you.

Negative emotions are painful because they are designed to get your attention!

What they're saying is, "Stop! Pay attention! Whatever you are thinking about, speaking about, or engaging in is not serving you in getting where you want to go!"

As an example, let's consider feelings of inadequacy.
When you are feeling negative emotion, it's the direct result of a need in your life that is currently unmet and it needs attention. The need hidden behind inadequacy type feelings is a need to feel adequate, competent, and appreciated. The cause of this emotion is usually when you're believing that you're lacking in some important area of your life.

So, when you're feeling a negative emotion, let's say inadequate, the first thing to do is honor the feeling. Appreciate it for getting your attention and letting you know that perhaps you are your own worst critic and you need to evaluate your thoughts and self talk.
Or maybe it's letting you know there is a part of you that would like to learn more or gain more skill in a certain subject or area in your life. I used to believe that I couldn't do anything technical or with websites. It scared me and I thought it was an impossibility for me. Then, a web designer said, "Ginny, you can do it, it's not impossible, it's just something to be learned." This changed my whole paradigm about it.

I believe feelings of inadequacy are a deep call from the soul for you to honor yourself and everything that you are already doing well in your life.

Feeling inadequate or not, I invite you to consider honoring your soul and making a list of all the things that are wonderful about you!
*I bet you are a kind person.
*You probably smiled at someone today.
*You probably are very considerate and always hold the door open for someone coming behind you.
*You probably did the grocery shopping for your family.
*You are probably brilliant and skilled at the work that you do and you made enough money to buy the things that you and your family needed this week.
*You probably do wonderful things everyday to make the house more comfortable for the others that live with you.
*You're working to heal your emotional issues because you're reading this email.
Make a list today and honor yourself for the fabulous human being that you already are.

Also, if you want to learn more about the specific hidden messages in each negative emotion and learn a simple technique to dissolve it in minutes, download the audio program,

How to Never Have a Bad Holiday!

How to Never Have a Bad Holiday!

What is it that causes a “Bad Holiday?” I'm not referring to a burnt meal or a messy house, those things aren't the funnest but they are usually easier to repair and recover from. What I mean by a “bad holiday” is the tension and stress between family members, the experience of having your buttons pushed, yet trying to smile through it and act like you're not screaming on the inside. And/Or.. losing it with someone you care about in front of everyone then having to go home and stress about it for weeks... Can you relate?

If you've suffered from any of the following situations, today I wanted to share with you a quick and easy plan designed to remove your emotional buttons beforehand so their not available for others to push. It's about clearing the unresolved stuff so you can be calm, centered, and energetically protected no matter what storms may be brewing around you.

Tired of Feeling Drained and Wiped out?

Tired of Feeling Drained and Wiped out?

Negative emotion is one of the biggest energy drains we are constantly faced with.

The other day I was asking one of my good friends what she thought about some of my new advertising that said "Emotional Healing Made Easy." She said, "If I'm an average person and I read, 'emotional healing' the first thing I think is, 'hmm I don't need that." The problem is, we do!

Our emotions have a profound affect on our energy levels and how well we are able to function in all areas of our lives! Yet this is a fact that most people don't realize.

Unresolved emotional baggage actually affects you just like extra programs, spam, and viruses affect your computer.

Dealing with the Inner Critic

Dealing with the Inner Critic

Do you have a way of expressing your creativity? I don’t mean that you have to be an artist. (unless you are) What I mean is, do you have a way of expressing your passion or a deep desire to explore and learn more about the things that you enjoy?

Imagine that your heart, perhaps your spirit, really wants to teach or take some art classes, yet as soon as you decide to act on that nudge you hear a voice in the back of your mind saying, “Are you crazy? Who do you think you are? Everyone else is so much better than you are. Why would you even try that? What’s the point? How will that pay the bills? etc. etc.” It goes on and on and on.

Could Change be as Simple as Remembering?

Could Change be as Simple as Remembering?
Today I found an awesome quote so I posted it on my Facebook page.  This was the quote:  "Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself." --Leo Tolstoy

One of my friends commented on the post and I loved what he said. Here was his response: "Sometimes you don't have to change...you just have to accept what you already know about yourself....and it just feels like change."

This reminded me instantly of Marianne Williamson's brilliant quote:
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.  Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.  It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.  We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous?  Actually, who are you not to be?  You are a Child of God.  Your playing small doesn't serve the world.  There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.  We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.  It's not just in some of us;  it's in everyone.  And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.  As we are liberated from our fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

So.. what if we all already know that we are magnificent deep inside?  Could it be that change is just the process of coming into complete acceptance of who we really are?  What a concept!  What if we're not worthless and incompetent failures who's lives are a mess?  What if we have just temporarily forgotten who we really are and the truth about ourselves which is.. we're already perfect, whole, and complete?

What if when we are going through really tough times we could see those times as a process of remembering our truth?  Who we really are?  The more we remember who we are.. the more allowing we can be of ourselves simply on the journey of remembering.  The more allowing we are, the more we can love and accept others right where they are and help them remember.

If you're going through a tough times, you can calm the fight or flight stress response in the body using the following technique: b2ap3 thumbnail sedate-fight-or-flight

Just lay the palm of your hand across the center of your chest and use the fingertips of the other hand to tap the back of hand between ring finger and pinky finger. While tapping the back of the hand, make the following kinds of statements while taking deep breaths:

"Even though I'm going rough times, I'm feeling so scared and beat up right now, I am choosing to feel calm and centered. Even though things feel chaotic and stressful and I'm not sure where to go from here, I'm choosing to feel calm and centered. What if I could use this experience as a tool to help me clearly define who I'm not and what I don't want? Since it's helping me to see what I don't want to experience in my life, I can now clearly identify what I do want and put my focus and energy on that. What if I could just accept this experience and use it as a catalist for healing rather than fighting and hating it. I'm choosing to stay open to healing and new solutions coming into my life."

Take some deep breaths and keep tapping this way until you feel calm and centered. This is a powerful technique designed to soothe the body's Triple Warmer Energy System.
